Privacy notice

This notice covers this website. Tenant reports made through the product are handled separately — see the bottom of this page.

This website collects almost nothing

There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no social media buttons and no third-party fonts or scripts. Nothing on these pages is loaded from another company's servers.

Because of that, there is no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

The hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. Those are retained for a short period under the hosting provider's own terms.

If you email us

When you contact hello@dampfixscotland.co.uk or another address on this site, we hold your message and contact details in order to reply and to keep a record of the enquiry.

  • Lawful basis: legitimate interests — responding to a business enquiry.
  • Retention: up to two years after our last contact, unless you are a customer, in which case business records are kept as long as required.
  • Sharing: we do not sell or share enquiry details. Email is handled by our mail provider as part of hosting the domain.
  • Marketing: we do not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Contact hello@dampfixscotland.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Data controller

DampFix Scotland, Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. Contact: hello@dampfixscotland.co.uk.

Tenant reports are different

If you are a tenant who has reported damp or mould through a DampFix reporting link, your landlord is the data controller for that information, not DampFix Scotland. We act as their data processor, under a written agreement, and only on their instructions.

The privacy notice that applies to your report is shown on the reporting form itself and carries your landlord's name and contact details. Your rights are exercised through them, and they can tell you how long they keep the record.

DampFix Scotland does not use tenant reports for marketing, does not sell them, and does not use them to train any automated system.
